The FA Respect Programme
Parents & carers
Stand behind the designated spectator line. Support every child, never coach from the touchline, and never criticise the referee — most are volunteers, many are teenagers.
Players
Play to the whistle. Shake hands before and after every game. Speak to the referee through the captain. Win or lose, walk off with your head up.
Coaches
Give every player fair game-time. No shouting, no bullying — teach the game, model the behaviour, and set the tone from the technical area.
Grimsby United operates a zero-tolerance approach to abuse of match officials, opposition players, coaches or parents. Reports go directly to the Club Welfare Officer.
New players can join a free two-week taster at any age group. Email grimsbyunitedfootballclub@gmail.com with your child's name and age, or come along to any Saturday session and speak to the lead coach.
